Presenting Stations List
of Basic Services For APT Exchange Programs
Below is a list of basic services expected from presenting stations for American Public Television Exchange programs. Stations that present programs are responsible for providing these services, or contracting with appropriate parties to do so.
REPRESENTATION
Provide information to producer about PTV culture, program distribution, pricing and ancillary options
Advise producer on related merchandise for premium and retail
Act as responsible Licensor and Signatory in contract with American Public Television
Provide producer with a list of licensees committed to program/series (from APT)
Provide producer the amount of country covered by list of licensees (from APT)
Collect and remit on a quarterly basis any ancillary revenue share due to APT with sales reports
Act as responsible party for all costs related to the presentation to APT
COMMUNICATIONS
Submit all communications materials to APT for review.
Create and distribute basic program information to stations (mailing labels provided by APT) including:
Program Description
Fact sheet
Press release
Episode descriptions when applicable
Photography
Provide APT with program announcements/updates for APT monthly Newsletter
Distribute program press materials to TV listings services (mailing labels provided by APT)
Serve as ongoing liaison with licensees’ publicists
Distribute related merchandise information to APT, licensees and viewers
PROGRAMMING/TECHNICAL
Assume responsibility for editorial oversight and adherence to APT funding guidelines
Provide screening and evaluation of program material
Underwriting: Consult with producer regarding APT's Guidelines for Underwriting Credits; obtain approval of credit from station's FCC legal counsel and submit to APT for approval for national distribution.
Submit product offer tags to APT for compliance with ptv guidelines
Notify APT of flaggable material
Package tape with TV content rating and APT logo per Exchange Technical Requirements
Provide tape duplication
Conduct technical evaluation of all tapes
Submit VOCA information form to APT Operations
Provide technical guidance on video tag production
Provide promos for programs to APT
Provide pledge break information to stations
